There is a constant concern in Bayrle's work with understanding the reality that emerged after World War II, when the codes of perception and self-perception through which we conceive our relations with others and with the world entered an unknown dimension. Our morals, aesthetics, and politics, as well as our economies of need and desire and even of social imperative, underwent a radical transformation. Bayrle's art is situated in that whirlpool of change; it asks how through artistic practice, we can approach problems related to the interpretation of the world on the one hand and to the interpretation of the modern subject on the other. How do we address the world in a time that could be described as post-world?
